Aviation photographer, Kevin Whitehead first developed an interest in military aviation while growing up beneath the flight path of McClellan AFB in Sacramento California. Thirty years later, and now living in Los Angeles, Kevin is fortunate to reside in close proximity to several key U.S. military air bases, which provide constant photo opportunities.

“As a regular attendee at many of the major air shows and military air exercises in North America, I take great satisfaction in the ability to freeze the action of a fighter as it zooms past an awe inspired crowd at over 600 mph. While it has taken a substantial investment of time and money to gain the experience necessary to capture exciting aviation images and do my small part to preserve brief moments in military aviation history, the enjoyment and satisfaction I have realized from this investment has been priceless.”

Aside from military aircraft, Kevin has a great deal of experience photographing airliners, general aviation and corporate aircraft, and classic warbirds. Whether you are looking for photographs that capture the speed, power, and agility of one of the World’s premiere fighter aircraft or the grace and glory of a classic aircraft from a bygone era, Kevin’s images will be cause for reflection at the technological wonder and inspiration that is aviation.

Past Positions: Photography Editor for Americas Flyways Magazine.
