Aviation photographer and professional pilot, Darren Howie has been photographing aircraft for over 20 years.

His childhood love of aircraft has extended throughout his life and now, as an A320 Airbus First Officer with a major Australian airline, he enjoys access to airplanes granted to very few photographers in the post 9/11 era. He will shortly transition to the wide-body Airbus A330 and commence international flying around the Pacific and Asian rim.

“Being on the other side of the flight deck door allows me to see and go places few others can these days. Hopefully my photographs will allow people to see things few can in our modern world. Without a doubt the highlight of my aviation career is the chance to fly an Airbus. From a photographic viewpoint my greatest highlight is my first visit to Amsterdam - the Mecca of civil aviation photography.”

“If one person wants to take up aviation as a career because of my photographs then I have made a difference.”
